β-hydroxyalkylamides. A problem with β-hydroxyalkylamides is that, when the crosslinking mechanism is a condensation reaction, water is formed. This water formation can result in surface defects. Glycidyl carboxylates, such as glycidyl esters of aromatic acids, are often surfactants and as such can give rise to storage problems.
